A word on sliding fee scales

It is important to Maypop and to our visiting teachers to offer a sliding scale for our classes so that all people can have access to learning. Our sliding scales are always done on an honor system: you pay what you can afford. Those paying at the top of the scale make up some of the cost of those paying at the bottom. We value our teachers greatly and want to pay them well for their services, so we encourage class participants to give generously in respect for the knowledge received. This generosity encourages these teachers and others to return, teach here again, and continue offering classes at affordable rates for everyone. In all of life, we get out of it what we put into it, and in the value we apply to being taught, this tenet is no different. We are giving generously to our teachers in respect for the time put into their education, developing classes, and travel, as well as the time spent in the classroom. The majority of people that attend our classes can pay the full amount that teachers ask for their services. Thanks for reading, and thanks for supporting our efforts at accessible education in herbal self-care for all.
